Balloon Lights for film, photography and events
Balloon lights have become very popular for the film, television and event industries lately.
This is due the balloons ability to produce a soft even light that can fill a space better than regular film lighting, and because of this efficiency the lighting technician can use less power and equipments.
There is a large range of lighting balloons to choose from, depending on the situation that it will be used in.
Film Lighting Balloons
Balloon lights for film and television are range from small to quite large in size. They come in either HMI balloons, for daylight lighting, or tungsten balloons.
Some film balloons are helium filed, however they take a lot of setting up, so many lighting technicians are turning to the easier to use air filled balloons. This type of balloon is much easier to set up and run very quietly, which is good when filming for television.
Event balloon lights
The balloons used for event lighting are much the same as for film.
When used for event lighting the balloons are usually covered in a coloured jacket, or the company logo of the business that they are being used to advertise.
Using a balloon light for event purposes works in two ways. Not only will they light the area, they can be used for advertising with company logos as mentioned. Using a balloon light in this way makes your product stand out and become more memorable to your clients.
Photography balloons
Small air filled balloons are usually used for photography lighting.
They are a popular choice for photographers because of their ability to provide an even and consistent light source. A balloon can e used to light your entire scene, with only a few smaller regular lights to highlight the item or person you are taking photos of.
Other balloon lights
Balloon lights aren't just for the film and photography world.
There are many weird shapes, colours and size to choose from that can be used for many occasions. Some examples would be, tall cone shaped balloons that can be used to line an entrance way to a party, or wedding procession. Or star shaped ones that can be hung around a room for a different look at a party or function.
